BePCIS seminar: ’Cleaning/Decontamination of Surfaces’

Cleaning or decontamination of surfaces is a challenge in many applications and across industries. Although the specifics of the contaminants and the approach to cleaning may look different, much of the underlying chemistry is actually very similar, and insights in mechanisms can often be reapplied.

We are therefore convinced there is great value in bringing practitioners and researchers from different backgrounds together in an interdisciplinary seminar. We are thus happy to announce our next BePCIS seminar, where experts from industrie and academia will present insights in cleaning efficiency and cleaning mechanisms from diverse fields such as textile cleaning, decontamination by Liquid CO2, hard surface cleaning, cleaning/disinfection in the food industry, cleaning/disinfection in a medical context and cleaning/decontamination in micro-electronics.

The seminar is co-organized with the UGent Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering (Prof. Lieva van Langenhove, Centre for Textile Science and Engineering).

We will start with a sandwich lunch at 12:00 and the presentations will last until 17:00, followed by a social hour.

More practical details around the program, venue and registration are given on the attached. There are a limited number of seats - please register promptly by return email. You will receive more logistic details after registration.
