innovation manager

Bioengineer in Food Technology, Minor in Nutrition & Health

Hannah graduated in 2018 from KU Leuven with a Master's degree in Bioengineering. She then pursued a postgraduate program in Innovative Entrepreneurship for Engineers, during which she worked for six months in South Africa on the circular farming system of aquaponics. Driven by this innovative agricultural technique, she implemented five of these farming systems in Benin (West Africa) in collaboration with the University of Parakou. Later, she followed a shortened path to become a dietitian.

Her career began in the water industry, initially as a first-line manager for utilities at AB InBev, and then at Waterleau, where she encouraged companies to engage in water reuse practices.

In January 2025, she started working as an innovation manager at Flanders' FOOD. She focuses primarily on projects within the Resilient & Sustainable AgriFood Systems and Personalized Foods and Healthy Diets programs, where her scientific background and training as a dietitian are particularly valuable.

In her free time, she enjoys being active through running, cycling, and occasionally participating in triathlons. Traveling and bikepacking in the mountains are also activities she enjoys. Additionally, she loves playing music and singing.
